Welcome to Jazz Llandeilo. This is the Llandeilo Jazz Festival, and this year there are some notable changes to the format of the event. It’s bigger, there are more acts, and there is more to do. We have put together a line-up that will suit all music tastes from Trad. Jazz to Gypsy, Ragtime to Swing and Blues to Soul, something for everyone. There will be street music, and we plan a fun packed weekend for everyone. We have increased the venues from three to four, with a new open arena at the back of the White Horse. We have extended the line up to include on Saturday afternoon a special children’s entertainment, to be held on the outside stage. This year we have made one further change. We will be asking you to pay for your weekend pass. The price for two tickets is £3.00, £1.00 of which will be gifted to our two primary schools, to help them buy musical instruments, and to pay for out of school musical tuition. Children will need tickets. The remaining £2.00 goes to help fund the weekend. However, the venues are all small, and buying a ticket does not guarantee entry. So come early. Llandeilo Jazz is a community event, and this year we want to help the future generations of Jazz musicians, with the schools, get off to a great start in life, and to appreciate and enjoy the benefits of playing in a musical group. When logging onto the tickets page, you will see that there are two options, one standard and one in which you can round up your payment to £5.00 with the extra £2.00 going directly to the schools. The extra contribution of £2.00 for the schools will make all the difference, £5.00 in total for a pair of weekend passes is great value, and will mean so much to our young people. Last year we had a great time and this year we plan to have the same again, come and join us, and see what real West Wales hospitality is all about. Here’s to a great weekend. Iechyd Da! Simon Buckley.

Live Music in Four Great Venues

hp-img-3.jpgWe have increased the venues from three to four, with a new open arena at the back of the White Horse. We have extended the line up to include on Saturday afternoon a special children’s programme, to be held on the outside stage. The White Horse, one of the last proper Ale Houses in West Wales dating back to the early 1800’s, is the Brewery Tap for Evan-Evans. With two courtyards, two bars, a fantastic range of real ales and International lagers, it's a marvellous setting for Jazz. The Cawdor is a Grade 2 listed Georgian Hotel and already has an excellent reputation for hosting lively and interesting musical events. The pub plays host to celebrities and famous faces, only recently hosting the ever positive Emma Bunton and her ex-band mate Melanie Chisholm. The Angel is a pub restaurant, which offers an extensive menu, as well as being a great venue for live music. Its function room boasts a huge Michelangelo-inspired ceiling mural hand painted by local artist David Cowdry; a must see for all art – and Jazz lovers!
